Bikini competitor, clean eating, healthy eating, weight loss

I was trying to think of the best way to reintroduce the continuation of my blog since I went on a minor hiatus. I was working on a few new projects with Jason and Jessica, in addition to working very diligently on my dissertation sooo things got a little hectic and my time was limited. Fortunately, I have taken hold of my schedule to try and focus on balance i.e. balancing my life with work, training, social life (sorta lol ), family and doing things I enjoy - ya know, things that make me happy...I think they call them hobbies or something ;p 

 I have always enjoyed reading and following other blogs that shed light on topics I am interested in and would like to (hopefully) find time to crash this community of fellow fitness and beau

ty lovers.  I really enjoy expressing my opinion on topics I have a passion for and I am in a position to pick this back up with hopes you find value in my outlook on things J

A very common question I receive whether by email or comments on IG is ‘what I eat’ or ‘what does my diet consist of’. With that in mind I figured that would be something I would start with…

Just to preface, I am a “retired” bikini competitor that just enjoys fitness and healthy eating out of choice. I do not have a show or photoshoot to lean down for so I practice a lot of intuitive eating but more or less following certain guidelines. This is what works for me and I suggest you always experiment to find out what works best for you and your body! I wish it was more glamourous and filled with fancy and pintrest worthy meals but that’s not real life and I ain’t got time for that ishhh. I gen

erally eat clean and try to get in a good amount of protein, carbs and healthy fats.  When it comes to veggies I will basically eat any kind but I threw in my favs so you could get the general idea :)

Meal 1:

5 egg whites and veggies topped with hot sauce

¼ cup oatmeal with cinnamon (sometimes a handful of walnuts)

 

 

 

 

Meal 2:

5oz ground turkey

Bowl of spinach w/ mustard and hot sauce

*try to have this before I workout*   

 

 

 


 

 

Meal 3:

5oz chicken

½ cup rice noodles1 cup asparagus

cuts½ a small avocado

*try to have this before I workout* 

 

 

Meal 4:

5oz white fish cooked in a TBS grapeseed oil

1 cup spinach, broccoli and carrots

½ medium sweet potato

*I have this after I workout*

 

 Meal 5:

5oz shrimp

1 cup sugar snap peas

 

 

 

 

 

Snacks:

I am ALWAYS hungry and I try to wait to eat at least 2.5-3 hours between meals which can sometimes feel like an eternity ( I know you feel me on this) Sooo If I am so hungry I might eat my face off I will have snacks packed with me to sustain the beast that is my stomach.

Grape tomatoes

Cucumber slices

Apple slices

Grapes

Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries (any and all berries pretty much)  

I know that it seems extreme for the average person but this is honestly how I eat. I recently posted on IG how I've never tried the IIFYM diet and I basically eat the old school clean eating diet: eating 5-6 meals every 2-3 hours. I may try the IIFYM diet one day but right now this is what works for me and I feel good eating this way- so for now I will stick to it.

If you are just begining your weightloss/fitness journey I hope this helps point you in the right direction or if you are hitting a plateau with your current routine, I hope my way inspires you to try it out.
